People connect and communicate, and perhaps go even further to build real relationships. The interactions with others may very well be a reflection of one’s inner self in life. ‘Heart swap’ carries a meaning. It’s a desire–I want to have your qualities, but I don’t have them. So can I swap with you? In medicine, when someone needs a heart swap, it’s because they are broken or incomplete. This is why people are looking for a ‘gestalt’ totality, and this heart swap process is essentially the human pursuit of totality.“ _GUMBO \n\nBorn in Taipei, Gumbo began her career in medicine at the age of 19 when she joined the gynecological surgery team at Taipei Veterans General Hospital as a nursing professional. Though working in a medical setting, her strong interest and desire for art led her to pursue art studies in her spare time. Then at the age of 30, she entered the art scene. Despite being a newcomer, she quickly became a finalist in the Taipei Annual Arts Competition for three consecutive years.
